The anthropology undergraduates at UCLA often ask me to share some thoughts with them and their families and friends at the June graduation ceremony. In 2012, I had to attend an academic conference during commencement. Since I couldn’t be there in person, late the night before I departed for the conference, I made a video for the graduating class. Although the humor may fall flat without a rowdy audience of graduates, I stand by the points I made about anthropology, evolution, and life.
